ROMANTIC WEEKEND GET-AWAY (some romance..some work)

“Love doesn't make the world go round, love is what makes the ride worthwhile.”
~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning

I am beginning to like this 'retirement' life.  Yes, every one of Francois' weekends from September to mid-December have and will continue to be occupied.  And yet another warrior week is coming up soon.  But there have been some nice perks for me too.  This was one weekend that was work/pleasure - i.e. Francois had to work but I had the pleasure (to accompany him).
We lived in Quebec City (http://www.ville.quebec.qc.ca/index.aspx ) for two years (several years ago) and I had forgotten what a beautiful city it was....and how cold it could be this time of year...

....yes...ice skating....

...the stores are all ready for Ho-Ho season....

...there is no shortage of good restaurants but on a cold Friday night what better place to stop for a bite and a pint but an Irish Pub....

...Halloween is a good time to sample Pumpkin Beer....but not bat stew and stuffed rat....

...Followed by a stroll around the old part of the city....

...Not too unlike parts of Paris but with a lot less people...

....and more clowns...

and one p'tit cochon...for all you Major Pig fans.....
