Oktoberfest if may not be…..

.....but what a great way to spend a sunny hot Saturday afternoon enjoying a sampling of some of Quebec’s best micro-brewery delights!..

This was La Fête Bières et Saveurs’ 10th annual event (http://www.bieresetsaveurs.com/)

held at the site of Fort Chambly, located on the Richelieu River

in the pretty town of Chambly, Quebec – my second visit and Francois’ first.

It was a great way to catch up with friends who seem to be as busy (if not busier) than we are these days.

The two commanders enjoying a pint (or two)
Black Watch (RHR) & 62nd Field Artillery Regiment

We spent four hours sipping and snacking (my favourite was the beer made with ginger and the chips made from potatoes thinly sliced with blade attached to a drill at Chez Gerry).

...and so many more delicious looking dishes made with local beer.

I think we easily could have stayed longer but had a commitment for dinner so left the site, grabbed an ice cream to cool down a bit, changed clothes and headed out for the evening.  The park at this point was packed, lines at the different kiosks were long (the lemonade stand line was REALLY long) and the line to buy entry tickets to the park was, what looked to me, at least a mile down the street.

Looking forward to next year.......
