REVEILLION 2011 - CELEBRATING WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS

"There's nothing sadder in this world than to awake Christmas morning and not be a child."
  ~ Wendy Wasserstein

....or at least a child at heart....

For the past few years we have injected another tradition into our holiday celebrations: Reveillion.  Ours though is a modified version of the original where family and friends gather Christmas Eve and celebrate through the night - eating, drinking and opening gifts until Christmas arrives.

Ours does involve family and friends.  We dine.  We drink.  We open gifts.  We celebrate....but not all night.  Usually our Christmas Day also includes a trip to Ottawa (a good two-hour drive on clear no-traffic days) so it becomes more prudent to get a bit of sleep before heading out to celebrate again.

...table is set and preparations complete....

...a little repose before the guests arrive...

...let the fun begin...

...playing Santa with his Christmas angel...

...as we near midnight this is the best place for pretty shoes...

....."and to all a good night"...
