After Francois worked some more on his lesson schedule we briefly went out to secure some cash for the trip. As advised, for this trip, a small amount of USD is the best to travel with. No travelers' cheques, just cash. The rest can be withdrawn as needed from ATM's. Credit cards will be used very little as apparently cloning is common.
Today was one of the only two days left to do some serious packing.
Francois' method: 2 compression packs
now house 7 weeks of combat gear.
We still have the same weight to deal with
but now we have so much more room for pretty shoes
My method is a multitude of packing cubes. They work really well when rummaging through your luggage for something in particular and a serious bonus when customs duty officers need to make sure you aren't transporting contraband.
...and my latest super cool travel discovery: Cat Crap - the name really caught my attention but the truth is it really delivers. For cleaning glass and plastic, it also claims to have anti-fog properties which may be advantageous when going from air-conditioning to 100% humidity. Extra bonus: I won't have to calculate our usual eye glass liquid cleaner in our carry-on limits.
Current temperature in Accra, Ghana 30°C, 85% humidity, feels like 40°C...I feel my glasses fogging already.....
