DAY 33: WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE

...somehow the quote from The Wizard of Oz keeps going  around in my head: `lions and tigers and bears, oh my!`...but it`s true - we definitely aren`t in Kansas anymoreToto...

...click...click...click...

...shaking so badly after seeing baboons and two different types of monkeys, this picture is very blurry but you get the idea...we are almost at our lodging for the weekend...
...we stepped out of the van...
...were greeted with a cool towel to refresh..
...and a glass of fresh mango juice...nice touch!

... led down a flower-lined path...

...to our cabin...

...our Maasai porter, Olenaso, and very happy Francois...

...this is Francois` idea of wilderness camping...

...wandering along the paths of his new kingdom...

...outdoor dining terasse...

...and pool area...

...our driver gave us the time to explore the lodge grounds...

...refresh a bit and have some lunch, then meet him for an afternoon game drive...
...sunset comes early on the equator...
...evening cocktails overlooking Lake Nakuru, this time welcomed back to the lodge with a heated towel - evenings here are cool...

...enjoying the roaring campfire...

...while being entertained by drum beats and the hotel`s Maasai Dance troupe...

...followed by a delicious candlelit dinner (notice the napkins folded in the shape of a Nakuru bird)...
...then retiring for the night...
...we slept with the angels...

...a little more about Lion Hill Lodge: as well as its beautiful rustic accomodations in the middle of a wild game park,  superbe service, and delicious meals, our all-inclusive price provided  accomodations and meals for our driver...
